Reaching Out to the Community in 2016

Nov 03, 2016

As an employer and an insurer, A.I.M. Mutual made “paying it forward” a corporate priority in 2016.

With more than 18,000 policyholders in three states, it’s not surprising that A.I.M. Mutual insures a number of non-profits. The company helped in fundraising efforts for New Hampshire Catholic Charities, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Lowell, The PLUS Company, and the New England Conservatory, to name a few, in 2016.

As a company, our employees showed how much they value philanthropy. Sixteen employees just finished a Habitat for Humanity project in Lowell, Massachusetts, building and doing interior finish work on a home for a family in need. In July, August and September, our staff put their existing (and new!) construction skills to the test, successfully making this home a reality in time for winter.

Cradles to Crayons®, a national nonprofit that distributes school supplies to area students, marked its 10th year loading up backpacks, and 15 A.I.M. Mutual employees were on the assembly line. They were part of a national effort that sent 40,000 fully-stocked backpacks to students this year. In addition, A.I.M. Mutual took home the Rookie of the Year award for its contribution to the Boston event.

And the efforts are ongoing. As part of A.I.M. Mutual’s corporate wellness program, employees participate in “Green for Jean$” every month, paying $5 to wear jeans on Friday and benefit a charitable organization at the same time. Beneficiaries included the Burlington Food Pantry, the National Parkinson’s Foundation, the Lupus Foundation, and the Humane Society of Massachusetts.
