A.I.M. Mutual Earns NAMIC Innovation Award

Jul 21, 2016

The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) presented A.I.M. Mutual with its Best in Category-Impact Award for Innovation at its annual management conference June 29.

A.I.M. Mutual was one of five carriers honored at the 2016 Award for Innovation presentation in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The award was created in 2014 to showcase the vision and entrepreneurialism unique to the mutual property/casualty insurance industry.

A.I.M. Mutual’s award submission focused on its chronic pain care management program, specifically the company’s work on behalf of injured employees at-risk for opioid dependency. The program includes a Predictive Index software tool as well as a key collaboration among claim adjusters, medical management partners, treating physicians, and plaintiff attorneys.

NAMIC also presented awards in Creativity, Mutuality and Adaptability categories as well as an overall innovation award.

“We’re very pleased that NAMIC chose to recognize us and this program in particular,” said A.I.M. Mutual President and CEO Michael Standing. “We educate injured workers on the risks of opioid use and give them therapeutic alternatives. Since 2005, we have seen a 63% reduction in the number of injured workers receiving extended release opiates.”

Standing added A.I.M. Mutual’s chronic pain management program will continue to be a priority, and policyholders are increasingly supporting the company’s efforts.
