Recognizing Workers' Comp Partnership In Connecticut: First, We Listen

Aug 07, 2022

A.I.M. Mutual’s Jim Marcoulier and Chris King along with Joe Brandi from Starkweather & Shepley recently met with Tyson Belanger, owner of Shady Oaks Assisted Living in Bristol, CT. Shady Oaks was in the national spotlight early in the COVID-19 pandemic for taking extraordinary measures to keep staff and residents safe. We asked Tyson to talk about those challenging days, his business today and why a carrier/broker relationship matters in workers’ compensation.

“When our premium audit came due, we worked hand in hand with A.I.M. Mutual,” Tyson recalls. “They helped us understand the changing landscape with regard to what is considered payroll during the pandemic. They took their time and explained the process…In an uncertain time, A.I.M. Mutual’s reliability means a lot.”

The workers’ compensation team presented Tyson with a plaque featuring the Shady Oaks story. In the photo L to R: Joe, Tyson and Jim; Chris was the photographer.
