Supporting LGBTQIA+ Youth Through Open Sky Community Services

Apr 18, 2023

Open Sky Community Services is celebrating 50 years of supporting LGBTQIA+ youth in Central Massachusetts. Record numbers turned out for the Safe Homes Gala and People of Courage Awards, an Open Sky event that A.I.M. Mutual sponsors.

Representing A.I.M. Mutual at the event were Mark Millett, Jen Green and Michael Stango.

With more than 300 attendees, the 2023 Safe Homes Gala held April 14 was their biggest event to date. Safe Homes is one of more than 100 programs operated by Open Sky Community Services, a human services agency in Worcester, Massachusetts. Open Sky is also an A.I.M. Mutual workers' compensation policyholder.

Safe Homes supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex and asexual young people, and their straight allies, between the ages of 14 and 23. Open Sky programs also assist those with mental health challenges, developmental disabilities, brain injury, substance use disorders or other complex challenges. Its mission is to blend best practices with the power of community, partnering with individuals and families to see beyond and live beyond perceived limitations.
