Volunteers Make a Difference Through Cradles to Crayons

Jul 29, 2021

Volunteers from A.I.M. Mutual turned out to support Cradles to Crayons and its mission to equip students as they head back to school. They filled 850 backpacks with school supplies at the in-person event July 14. A.I.M. Mutual has been a corporate partner of Cradles to Crayons since 2016.

A.I.M. Mutual employees who donated their time were Nina LaFauci, Bonnie Battite, Madison Costa, James Mayorga, Ariana Yin, Sue Dowdie, Lynne Bettencourt, Leigh Ryan and Patti DeViller.

The 2021 goal is to fill and distribute 65,000 backpacks to Massachusetts children as part of the Ready for Learning initiative. The need is great. According to statistics cited by Cradles to Crayons, 88% of teachers say poverty is one of the top obstacles to students’ success. What’s more, spending an average of $320 per year on school supplies is simply not possible for many families. To learn more visit
